Job description
The position requires a hands-on ORACLE RAC database technologist with both database administration and database development experience. Also required is advanced expertise in performance tuning activities. Good written & verbal communication skills are needed to work with various project teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to drive tasks to completion independently, and able to learn new skills on the job as project requirements expand

Responsibility
-
Supporting the day to day development activities by working with the application development team on database issues
-
Performance tuning/troubleshooting complex queries and server performance issues
-
Run system performance tests in the database lab
-
Recommend improvements in the reporting and batch processing code based on analysis of system snapshots and database logs
-
Participate in the production support activities on a 24x7 basis

Lead database code reviews

Qualifications
-
7 years experience with ORACLE database administration
-
3 years experience with RAC, installation, configuration, administration of ASM, cluster control
-
3 years or more experience in the database development lifecycle
-
3 years database programming including stored procedure and trigger development
-
Experience with VLDB (very large database) environments

3 years database programming including stored procedure and trigger development

Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries to improve performance

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to prioritize, multitask and work with onshore and offshore teams Skills Desired

ORACLE 11g and 12c
-
UNIX and shell scripting skills

Experience in a programming language is a plus
